My husband has a free legal service through his company that gives us full legal coverage on uncontested adoptions. I believe we would still need to locate a birthmother, however, and pay other varied expenses but my question is this: Has anyone used an attorney successfully for independent adoption? Or does an agency always get involved somehow? Also, if you have used a specific attorney in the KCMO area and have comments good or bad, I'd love a personal note on the attorney. Thanks!
Yes, my first adoption was done this way. You do not have to involve an agency. If you look under attorneys in the yellow pages, there are some that are listed as adoption attorneys.
