I was wondering if anyone could relate to these symptoms. Well I found out yesturday through the internet how far along i am because i just got my insurence and havent been able to go to the doctor yet. I am now 16 wks hopefully and four mths. Well i did go to the hospital in the beginning because i was having pain in the lower abdomin, well they told me that i had a cyst on my overy and i could go away or grow with the baby. Well i have continued to spot dark bleeding not so much light. I did have a big one but then they made me wait for five hrs at the hospital i went home because I had bleeding with my second son so i though maybe it will stop. Well i didnt have a major on just the lite ones that i discribed. NOw i am experiencing a nurve problem. A little before i became pregnant the nurve right below the right hip bone began to hurt causing sharp pain up and down my rt leg and hard for me to walk. so now that i am pregnant people have been telling me that it is a syatic nurve and i dont really know what that is but now i can barly walk and a even though i sit a work that is becoming very hard for me as well. I am scared that as the baby become bigger i wont be able to move at all. Do anyone have any sujections until i can get to the doctor. Thanks

I would not wait for the insurence to come through.
Most areas have some sort of health clinic if you are pregnant. Once you are a pregnant woman, you are pretty much provided with prenatal care no matter what the circumstances. Get your local phone book and call public health for your area, social services, etc. and find out what is available. They do minimum financial checking and take into consideration your income and expenses. This way you are covered until your insurance gets on track and you can avoid a minor problem getting more compliacted.
It does sound like stiatica..maybe the cyst is putting pressure on the nerve? But if it does need to be removed, then that is the lind or surgery that is better done now in the pregnancy.
Find yoursels medical care ASAP.

Be aware, your insurance may not cover pregnancy as a 'pre-existing condition' depending on the policy. If not, check and see if you're eligible for Medicaid coverage for your state.
Best of luck,

Ladicha sorry you are experiencing so much pain. It does sound like a syatic nerve though you can go through the entire pregnancy it can and probably will become more painful.
My next door neighbor had the same problem with both of her pregancies.
You mentioned that you didn't have any medical insurance, in many states an expectant mother can get state assisted medical insurance provided to her at no cost.
Please check with social services or even Planned Parenthood in your area. They may be able to help you expite the insurance process.
Hang in there I am here if you want some extra support.
Hugs,
Maria
Pre-Existing Condition
Depending on the state I guess, my OB informed me that the insurance company MUST cover your pregnancy - regardless of the pre-existing classification - it was state law.
Also, you can apply for Medicaid or CHPS (federal program but state run) and have that offset your insurance (so it would cover co-pays or the 20%) and help with scrips.
I had that nerve problem briefly during a pregnancy. Mine was related to pressure of the baby...
What was worse was when a had sharp pains in my abdomen and thought it was an emergency! That was from the tendons that attach the uterus to the pubic bone and for some reason... they don't like to stretch for later pregancies...
You need to get to the Dr ASAP!
Get your prenatal vitamins! Those are soo important.
And have the Dr address all your concerns, make a list if you must but ask the Dr. about your nerve, your spotting (especially that!), everything.

I would like to thank everyone for their information it really helped me put into perspective my symtoms. I had to go to the hospital last night because the pain had gotten so bad. Well the doc did determine that the pain was the imflamation of the sciatic nurve and unfortunitly they cant do anything for it sense I am with child but give me tylonal and heating pad. He said it could go away on its on or i might have to wait until the baby is born to get additional procedures done. But thanks anyway you all were a big help to me.
