The White Screen of Death has been running rampant on the forums since late Saturday night (AKA: When the forums came back up!)
Some members are reporting the white screen with almost every click...while others are aren't having that much of a problem.
What I'm hoping, is that you guys (fellow members) will post your experience with TWSoD, so we can see if its a system wide issue.
I'd like to know how often you are getting TWSoD, every click, every other click or whatnot. Also, is TWSoD causing other issues (non-responsive browser, ect) with your PC? And finally, is TWSoD getting better or worse?
Please feel free to make any comments about any current issuesӔ that you may be experiencingI hope this will help us compile a list of issues for the tech team to address ASAP.
I'm copying this message to repeatedly attempt to post, however it only took me 14 hours to be able to post this message (yes, I first tried at 5am to post on a thread with no luck)

WOOHOO It posted!!!! WSoD has not been helped by hitting refresh over here. Occasionally it works, most time it doesnt help at all. It hasnt frozen my browser, I have 3 other window's functioning properly :). I'm glad that an end is in sight.
Uhm, but now the user cp button, new post button, journal button, and other buttons along the top... I cant read them I can see the line below the links but cant actually read what they are. Luckily I'm such an addict that I can manage without the name of the button I'm hitting :D
Ok, I got some confirmation, the server has been tentatively repairedit is, however, hobbling along with the assistance of a walker while being followed by someone pushing a wheelchair.
What this means is, its working (rather wonderfully) nowŅbut it may not continue to work in this fashion forever
Heck, I guess weŒll take what we can get!

I had a few problems a few weeks ago but that seems to be all cleared up (just glad it wasn't my old computer at home breaking on me!!).
I do have two problems at the moment:
1. Normally when I reply to a Topic I automatically recieve email replies to that Thread. I've just realised that isn't happening anymore. I've looked in my user CP and it clearly states "instant email notification".
2. It has been saying for ages that I have one unread Private Mail but I can't get at it.
Can someone please look into this for me. Many thanks in advance, Pinkie
I am haveing a different proublem. For the last two days when I open this site I only have 4 pages of posts. It is usually 12 hrs. since the last time I was on and I use to have between 9 to 14 pages to look through. Anyone else haveing this proublem.
it's only giving me the last 100 posts rather than all the posts from when I last visited also.
And when I go stalking and click on someones name, and click find posts of that someone, it isnt coming up right. For one person, it gave me results from March and before, but only a hundred of them. Why is it only a hundred? I used to be able to go back to their first post :(. Or searching my own- I cant look back at how my feelings have changed now becuase I cant search out my first few posts. I almost wish I would have saved them on my puter, too.
Ahhh...me too, me too!! I've been wondering why we have been limited to the last 100 posts :(

While TWSoD will be here for a while longer, some of the search issues seem to be resolved. While we are getting used to having more forums and the load that entails on the servers, only the 100 most recent posts in your search will be displayed. The improvement is that they are now the ACTUAL most recent posts rather than some other interpretation of "recent" that was coming up before.
Thanks for your patience!
hi there, just to let you know that the problem with the blank screen was better last night and this morning, it has started up again and my computer has frozen twice
Donna
yeah its getting worse/ more prevalent as the day progresses :(
it's a sign from the gods that we all have other stuff to do!
so... we can't search for our posts from like a year ago anymore? drat.

In light of the days events ....
At a computer Expo, Bill Gates reportedly compared the computer industry with the auto industry and stated:
"If GM had kept up with the technology like the computer industry has, we would all be driving $25.00 cars that got l,000 miles to the gallon".
In response to Bill's comments, General Motors issued a press release stating:
"If GM had developed technology like Microsoft, we would all be driving cars with the following characteristics:
For no reason whatsoever, your car would crash twice a day.
Everytime they repainted the lines in the road, you would have to buy a new car.
Occasionally, your car would die on the freeway for no reason. You would have to pull over to the side of the road, close all of the car windows, shut it off, restart it, and reopen the windows before you could continue. For some reason you would simply accept this.
Occasionally, executing a maneuver such as a left turn would cause your car to shut down and refuse to restart, in which case you would have to reinstall the engine.
Only one person at a time could use the car unless you bought "CarNT", but then you would have to buy more seats.
Macintosh would make a car that was powered by the sun, was reliable, five times as fast and twice as easy to drive - but would only run on five percent of the roads.
The oil, water temperature, and alternator warning lights would all be replaced by a single "General Protection Fault" warning light.
New seats would force everyone to have the same sized butt.
The airbag system would ask "are you SURE?" before deploying.
Occasionally, for no reason what so ever, your car would lock you out and refuse to let you in until you simultaneously lifted the door handle, turned the key and grabbed hold of the radio antenna.
GM would require all car buyers to also purchase a deluxe set of Rand McNally road maps (now a GM subsidiary), even though they neither need nor want them. Attempting to delete this option would immediately cause the car's performance to diminish by 50% or more. Moreover, GM would become a target for investigation by the Justice Dept.
Every time GM introduced a new car, car buyers would have to learn to drive all over again because none of the controls would operate in the same manner as the old car.
You'd have to press the "Start" button to turn the engine off.

You should be able to search for specific time frames, but you will only get 100 posts as the result. So if you searched for a certain key word in a 6 month period and there were 200 results, only the 100 most recent would be displayed :)
