He has known one dad all of his life - my husband. He knows nothing about his bio dad. I have heard that SS will sometimes require that the child be informed. Has this happened to anyone? If so, how was it handled?

I asked social services about it and they said they will handle it delicately. It is the law that the child must know what is going on and has to be informed. They told me they would say something like "You know this is your dad, this is a thing the adults have to do so that all of the adults know that hes your dad legally. Don't worry they will be gentle.
