Confused on what to do first????

Do I file the paperwork for the adoption first? Or do I have my husband fingerprinted first? Not really sure the order in which this stuff has to be done. I know I have to take him to the Adult Court Investigations office to be fingerprinted and for them to run a background check. But does that happen after I file..or before I file...And which papers do I file first??? I'm doing this on Friday so HELP!!
