Just wanted to say; we adopted a little girl from Romania this summer 2000, she was 11 months old when we got her and she couldn't crawl yet. She was crawling 3 days after she came home, she eats well, she is walking now at 15 months, she is starting to speak and says Cat, and Doll, and Oh-Oh. She has been a joy to us, and has checked out very healthy! Our pediatrician said she is doing better than a lot of Canadian kids he sees locally! Friends who adopted older kids from Romania are having more adjustment trouble, but they are up to the task! If it is your first child, go for the youngest child possible, if you have parenting experience, you may be able to handle an older child.
