Can anyone recommend a book for my Ex-husband to read about adoption. He believes that I am "purchasing a playmate for our son". I was so incredibly hurt when he said that last week. He then said that the adopted son would just be living there and not be part of the family. We are working with a councilor to help him understand what adoption means, but I would also like to give him a book to read about what adoption is all about.
Thanks in advance!

from the sounds of it...actually there are some sites about international adoption that the travel bureau maintains that states some basic info about countries that don't have adoption and the plight of those children...
I guess David Pelzer's books about foster care would be good....The national adoption clearing house has some pamplets also.
I don't know, how do you put caring into someone.... I've run across people in the USA who also don't see me as their "real" mom, etc....
Torey Hayden has a children's book out called The Very Worst Thing and it has some about foster care...I also guess it would depend on what age child you are adopting....
