My ex husband called and says he wants to give up his parental rights so that my husband can, finally after numeruos conversations and finally giving up on the idea all together, adopt my tow older children.
So what do i do now? I went to the Liabrary and checked out the new Nolo stepparent adoption book for us to look at. But our concern is where do we file? My divorce and ex reside in a different county from us. Can we file in our own county?

Yes, file in whatever county you have resided in for the last 6 months. You must be a resident of whatever county you file in.

I had things done in two differant counties and it worked out fine. IF he is consenting then you should not have any problems. It cost me $700 dollars for the investigation and that is how much the adoption cost for me.
