Hi!
We have a group in Washington County called Adoptive Parents Network. If you have completed a homestudy through DHS, you are invited to come hang out with us on the second Thursday of every month at Beaverton's multi-service building (second floor) off of Jenkins (close to Cedar Hills Blvd.) also known as the Beaverton DHS office from 6:30-8:30.
It is an extremely informal atmosphere. There is a panel of adoptive parents that have been around in the system for awhile and a DHS worker. Come join us to chat, ask questions, help answer questions, receive or provide insight and resourses.
Your participation in the group counts toward hours for certification. You can check us out on ORPARC's website www.orparc.org for further details. Once in a while ORPARC will provide information or training classes for APN so keep checking their site for details.
PM me with any further questions.
MJ

Does the Multnomah group get a good turnout of people? If it's the one I've heard of, I have heard positive things about it. I would like to check it out sometime. We would love it if you popped by our group sometime too. Perhaps we can get ideas or resourses through each others groups just by observing the other?
Thanks for posting,
MJ
