What does it mean?
Can a moderator PM me because I'll probably forget that I posted this and I cant subscribe to threads. I turned it off once and dont know how to turn it back on :).

The administrator may have enabled referrals, which allows you to be credited for any new users you invite to the forum.
You gain referrals by promoting Family Forums using your unique referral link.
Each time someone follows this link to Family Forums and registers as a new member, your referral count will be incremented by one. The number of referrals you have can be viewed in your profile.

Well, since Crick spilled the beans, I guess I can go ahead and tell you that someone can also enter your name when signing up, and it gives you one referral.

Michelle - click on User CP, then Edit Options and you can change the options for your subscribed threads....

Ah Plareb...I had to edit it out a bit so it wouldn't show MY unique referral link. Click on FAQS and then type in referrals and it'll tell you more than you want to know...LOL!

I don't think the "Unique link" doohicky is actually turned on.
I think the only way someone can get a referral is if they enter the name of the person who referred them, at the time of sign up.
