My husband and I have selected a boy name, but girl names are not coming so easily.
I have always like Gretchen, but with our last name, which is German, we have been told the combo would be "too krauty". I like Calvary (like the "Cross Of...") and call her "Callie". DH likes Callie, but not Calvary. I like Avonlea Joy (Joy for my grandmother Joyce who passed way the day before I found out about this baby. I told her about it at her funeral). I think I am the ONLY person who likes Avonlea.
DH likes Audrey. I like it...but not as much as he does. So, IF we go with Audrey, we need middle names.
We were thinking:
Audrey Irene (Irene after my other grandmother)
Audrey Joy or Joyce
or various combinations of Joyce and Irene...some that I have heard are "Irena-Joy" and "Joyrene"...
My mom suggested Audrey Rejoyce (play on words, use of Joyce and the "Re" would be for Renie, which is what everyone calls my grandma Irene).
My husband's mom suggested the name "Jill" because it is made up of the 1st letters of the 1st names of all 4 grandmothers.
J (JOYCE) I (IRENE) L (LUELLA) and L (LUCILLE)
My DH is Andrew so we could go Jillian or Jilliana...???
Audrey Jilliana? I don't know...doesn't flow for me. I would prefer not to have Jill as the 1st name. I am a J and I have another daughter who is a J...I just don't want a whole herd of J names. ;)
I am WIDE open to suggestions of middle names for Audrey or entirely new first name suggestions.
A MILLION thanks!!!!!

I have a niece named Audrey. She always got called ornery Audrey....quite a handful (and still is as a teenager). I personally LOVE the name. My sister says every Audrey she has ever met is a "strong-willed" child. It just seems like some names go with some personalities.....would love to hear of any others experiences.
BTW, I think Callie is a great name, too.
I like Lucille as a middle name with either.

Audrey is a very nice name. I think Audrey Joyce flows well. Audrey Jill is okay, not much flow but I like that it has 'meaning'. Although Jilliana is pretty, Audrey Jillian(a) sounds like a mouthfull. On the other hand the combination has a lot of personality, I can just hear it announced in some formal way like 'all rise for Supreme Court Justice Audrey Jillian So-and-so'.
