An adoption prayer for foster parents

I thought I'd share this with all of you hoping to adopt your foster children.

My prayer

Lord, I know that there've been times I haven't done whats right.

I didn't follow in your path, or say my prayers at night.

I've lived my life for me alone but now that all has changed.

I stand before you humbled and call upon your name.

I prayed that you would give me a child of my own

A child of my heart, not of my flesh and bone.

You answered my prayer and now I know what I never knew before

What it's like to be a mother and to love another more.

I thank you for this Lord, for this joy that I have known

for this child of my heart, not of my flesh and bone.

Now please don't take him from me Lord, don't let him go away

Let me watch him grow and learn, please Lord let him stay.

I pray to you with all I am, what little that may be

I leave it up to you to control my destiny

For you alone have the power, you are the Lord divine

You alone can make it happen...please make this baby mine.
