Aside from the obvious constant wonderment and overwhelming joy, how has your life changed in little ways since becoming a parent? Your daily life, I mean; is it your routine, what music you listen to in your car, what you hum in the shower, where you eat out, what or if you still have a late night snack or what you find yourself saying.

I don't get to pee alone...I really do miss that. And now that song is stuck in my head! AHHHHH! I used to wear makeup and do my hair...hahahaha! Saddest thing..I go to work...daily and deal with the public!I can survive almost 2 long years without a good night's sleep. I hate working and will soon, very soon be a stay ay home mom! Something I said I could never do... I am so, so SO out of shape...I am disgusted with myself...but this week...I am biting the bullet...diet and exercise...the first time in my life I have had to do it...is it kids or being 40...??? I finally realize what IS important...:) and it ain't a clean house...
Life is sticky now...the table in the kitchen, the walls going up the stairs...and for crying out loud, how does she get that much toothpaste smeared across the sink every day when I'm standing next to her!?!
My incredibly vibrant, uninhibited daughter doesn't know how introverted and inhibited her mommy is. Not wanting to disappoint her, I have now danced with her in the aisles of Walmart, Canadian Tire and all sorts of random rest rooms. If there's a beat to the music, she's just got to move!
We laugh more. Not quite chuckling, but great big belly laughs. Most of the time it's when she's doing a dead on impersonation of me. I try so hard to turn away when she does her impersonation of her teacher...I hope her teacher does the same for me! :)

Lack of sleep is the biggie for me!!!
Having to navigate a mine field of toys when I go pee in the middle of the night (and I'm up at least 4 times a night  )
Finding amazement in the smallest things! Throwing rocks into puddles, watching ants march up a tree, hearing a bird and being utterly in awe!!!
Yup.... everything is sticky now!
Not being even remotely surprised to find a cup of raw cornmeal in my bed! (it makes great indoor construction sand for winter time.... NOTE TO SELF: do not leave liam alone with construction sand while you pee....)

I just rescheduled my haircut for the, no lie, 3rd time!!! I look like a rag-a muffin with two toned hair!! And I am constantly singing that one song from Moose A Moose on Noggin - "candy is the sweetiest, socks are the feetiest, ect...." All the time..... I am starting to annoy myself!!! Experiencing all the same as the rest too, and LOVING EVERY MINUTE OF IT!! Mega
I used to be a clean freak!!! Well, I am not anymore.I used to have BAD mornings I have now good mornings even though they start with something climbing on me, over me and oooouch! That's my hair!!!yeah, haircut... life used to be so organized and controlled and I was aware of all my belongings at all times and NOTHING was out of place... Last night I stepped on a bottle of water in the middle of the room while getting to a clean dipper  - glad I found the diapper!I still listen to Guns and Roses even though I really like that song about: "You've got little baby belly and little button nose... eatable toes... I'm so proud I just want to introduce you to the GREEEEAT BIIIIIG WOOOORLD, Welcome to the GREEEEAT BIIIIIG WOOOORLD" :D

LOL...this is great! If I wasn't in a fog, I would have posted here first instead of making an new thread. I find myself singing more out loud and making up songs. This voice of mine is not a blessing to anyone's ears except my babes...but I'll sing anywhere now...not caring if Joe Public winces a bit. Not loudly, but horribly all the same. But to see that smile, to hear that laugh, to watch her eyes light up and crinkle, to see that dimple get deeper...wow...I'd walk over hot coals for those things. Because now that I've experienced it, I'm hooked for life! Speaking of cats keeping you company...here is the not so little Keziah in our sink...
Hmmmm, how hasn't life changed?
I am no longer employed :D, all the songs I sing are accompanied by hand (and sometimes feet) movements. I am always singing "We're going on a bear hunt" that we learned at story time. I have gone out in public with rice cereal not only stuck to dd's face, but it was unbeknowst to me stuck on my face, leg, and in my hair, LOL.
My knees are starting to hurt since I sit "criss cross applesauce" on the floor playing most of my day away....
The biggest changes here, we go out together (no kids) a few times a year rather than a few times a month. We used to just get up and go, whether it was to a movie or across the border for a day, or overnight trip, to Canada.
Now, it takes 20 minutes later just to get coats and shoes on and a big deal is a trip to the grocery store.
No such thing as sleeping late anymore.
We do things like Gymboree, trips to the zoo, etc.
Hmmm...you all have done such a good job of covering the peeing alone issue, I am wondering if I have to chime in or lave it at that...
So, ok, I do not get to pee alone ever. Like most of you, 3 dogs, 1 cat and 1 boy all need to make sure Mommy can peepee without dieing...
I don't get to watch tv anymore not that I was huge on it before, but at least I felt like I knew what was going on.
My clothing is always dirty now, at least it is by 9 am. He can never let me stay clean past that.
Bodily fluids do not disturb me anymore, and yes, I will let you spit that right into my hand.
Instead of a pack of cigarettes and a coke in my cup holder in the car, there is a pack of gum and a Thomas train...and I love it that way!
Also, I don't really yell anymore. It is like my life, while getting so much more busy, has been turned down a notch.
And, I realize more and more how very little I know and am willing to accept advice more readily and graciously refuse that which does not fit our lives.

I used to be a NEAT freak about my house but once the third little angel came along I quickly learned that some things just arn't as important. Now I make sure I have a stright house but it is not always as clean as I once would have liked. Up side is that I have so much more time to relax and play with my kiddos. Being older, 39 next month, has also made some differences. Although I think I am more tired this time, with an almost two year old, I have much more patience and some things that I would have fallen apart over before are now really cute and worth getting a picture of! :D
