I've been posting on and off here, and most of you probably don't know me. We were initially doing foster/adopt when I introduced myself here, but we got a little scared and decided to do a private domestic newborn adoption. But I wanted to share that we have been matched! I am so happy and excited, although it doesn't feel real yet. Our pbmom lives in TN and we will be flying out soon to meet her (we're in TX) and go to her next doctor's appointment. We've spoken on the phone and she seems to really like us. The baby is due in September, gender unknown at the moment. She wants a very open relationship, which we are thrilled about.
Happy Dance!

Well, we just found out today the baby is a boy! Our pbmom slipped last night and fell, so she went to the ER to make sure she and baby were okay. She's fine, baby is fine, and it's a boy. She is measuring 22 weeks and the baby weighs one pound and they said everything looked great!
So, we're adopting in a different state, so I think we'll do his circumcision and naming when we get back home so we can be with our rabbi and congregation and family. The rabbi told me it doesn't have to be done on the 8th day when it's done with the intent to convert. We will convert him when the adoption is finalized 6 months after birth.
