I'm looking for some singles (especially men) who have adopted, especially if you adopted or are currently waiting for an infant, domestically. I'm interested and looking to get started, but I'm having trouble finding much information on good agencies for singles and other information. I'd be grateful for people's experiences and recommendations, here or by PM.

but I am single. Have you considered foster to adopt? I was fairly picky about what kids I was willing to take, and it took only 4 weeks for me to get my first placement. And all signs point to them being TPR'ed in October. I did agree to two( I was anxious) instead of the one, that would have been much easier, 18 months and 4 yrs. Good luck in your search.

A friend of mine who used to work for childrens' services also suggested foster-to-adopt. I hadn't really thought about it before because I am pretty set on adopting a newborn boy, and I had always heard that mainly older children are available through foster to adopt. Congrats on your two!
I'm sure it depends on where you are but I interned for an agency that did foster to adopt and there were infants who were fast tracked because of the consistant history of the birth parents having their rights terminated. Call an agency in you're area to find out more, after all it doesn't hurt to ask
G35Guy,
I completely agree with Mommakatja, call some agencies and see what they have to say.
I wanted a newborn like you, my son came home at five-days-old and was "fast-tracked" because of his birth mother's history.
I was told by my agency if I was open to minority infant boys I could probably pick one up from the hospital. My friend did pick her preemie son up from the hospital, she actually got to stay with him at the hospital for a night or two. His adoption, also fast-tracked, was finalized in 10 months. 10 months is fast for DCFS.
I am now fostering a 5-week-old girl whom I picked up from the hospital.
Best of luck,
Yash
