I am searching for my birth family, but have recieved some new
info. from Dauphin Co. Orphans Court. My Birth name was Sharon Irene
Dellinger.I was born Sept.27,1965. My biological mother was born in
Pa and lived in Harrisburg when I was born. She was 23 years old,
Protestant, and her occupation was Horse Caretaker and trainer also
a factory worker. She was also married at the time of my birth.
My legal father was born in Virginia but was living in Harrisburg
when I was born. He was 24 and his occupation was Consruction. My
mother and my legal father were married on Valentine's Day but
separated three months later. The record does not indicate whether
or not they where ever divorced. The info. above is for my legal
father.
My mother had a son to my legal father in December of that year. He
was later adopted through a private attorney. She also had a daughter
to another man. She lived with that man for awhile but later left
after he became abusive. The daughter was adopted as well through an
agency. Subsequent to that relationship, my birth mother went to
Texas where she became pregnant with me by a married man with two
children.
But no more info. is available on this man. my birth mother was 5'7"
and weighed 160 lbs. She had a large boned frame, straight brown
hair and blue eyes. My maternal grandmother described my birth
mother as always being stubborn and rebellious. My maternal
grandfather died of cancer before I was born. In September, 1966 I
was declared by the Court a dependent child and placed under the
jurisdiction of Dauphin Co. Child Care Services because My birth
mother hired a babysitter to watch me for an hour or so when I was 4
weeks old. My mother was not home when the babysitter arrived but
the door was propped open with a coke bottle with a note indicating
that my birth mother would be right back. The sitter waited two days
and then called authorities. I was placed with Mr. and Mrs. Hughes
of an emergency basis that same day.
If any of this info sounds familiar to you PLEASE feel free to
contact me.I would also like to thank Karen for all her help!
