Hello all. I am here begging for any help I can get in the search for the birth mother of my wife. I really don't know where to start and because we currently live in Texas, I can't just go down to the courthouse and ask.
My wife was born in Anaconda, MT on 8-4-64 at Saint Ann's Hospital. Here adoption was completed in Helena by the Cathlic Charities.
Any help anyone could provide, I would be greatly thankful.

I am just beginning my search in Montana also. I first contacted Catholic Charities in Helena, MT and got my non identifying information. They then put me in touch with a Confidential Intermediary(CI). I will not post his name but he was a very hard person to get ahold of so I contacted Tina at Luthern Social Services and I am going to have her petition the court to get my records unsealed and they will make initial contact with birthfamily. Her number is 406-761-4341. Hope this helps

Sandy - I actually got my NonId quite some years ago and I guess I was satisfied with what I found. At that time you did not need a court order and I don't really know why you would need one now. If I were you I would contact Catholic Charities first and ask for your NonId and see what happens. After non Id I would fill out the paperwork and have either CC or LSS petition the court for you and have records unsealed and they will search and be the go between for a fee. It looks as LSS is charging $200 Deposit and then $100 due upon successful completion of search and prior to disclosure... and other fees for travel ect.. I am willing to pay the price right now, supposedly my birth parents were in their 30's and 40's when I was born. I am now 39, so they are getting up their in the years and time is a wasting!!!
