hi people...
i am a 20 yr old guy. i am very close to my girlfriend and love her a lot..
last month she had her periods on 12th Aug..
Then we came really close on 26th Aug (by this time her periods were over)..
i used a condom for safety.., but my penis barely touched her vagina..
now its 7th Sept and she is waiting for her next periods...!
What is the max. date we shud wait, before going for a pregnancy test...??
And if the test comes out positive, wat shud be our next steps??
Are there any ways in which we avoid this??
Plz Help!!
Regards

Cycles can range, on average, from 24 to 36 days and still be considered "normal." 28 is the "accepted" average and she's not even there yet. I'd calm down and wait a few days.

I agree with the other post, an average cycle is 28 days or so, being that it's only the 7th, she really isn't due for at least a couple more days. The rule of thumb with pregnancy tests is to wait a week after the missed period to get an accurate test reading. I wouldn't worry too much right now, until she misses her period. Then you can decide where to go from there. Good Luck!
thanx....
today she told me that she was feeling very tired, & also has headache & pain in her legs...
i'll definitely wait & let u know if she gets her period or not....
When in doubt and really becoming messed up over a stressful situation like this, go to the clinic, they will look after your girlfriend and give you both peace of mind quickly.
Every women is different, so every womens period is different, and with each women, every pregnancy is different, including the way she can get pregnant, for me, I got pregnant fast even when i stopped taking the pill, (they say it takes awhile to get pregnant after stopping the pill) , and there could be something completely else going on for her too. Judging by your last comment, it sounds like a period is on its way however! I was always told that 10 days after the last day you had sex is the best day to take a pregnancy test too.
Best of luck to you. And KUDOS for you for seeking out some advice/support in care for your girlfriend especially at your age, Im very impressed!!!

hey my girlfriend got her periods yesterday (9th).both of us are so relieved now....Seems like, i was just worrying about it too much..,(well it was our 1st time so....)Thanx for all the help & support i have recieved out here...!!Thanx Again!!
Now make sure sd sk that you use CONDOMS. And, that your sweetie goes on the pill. do you really want to go through this ever again? i hope not! take care.
I second Tammi, use both, I got pregnant because my boyfriend at the time did not put the condom on right, and it burst!(hahaha he probably was carrying it for years, and he too was a virgin as I was) True story, resulting in being pregnant at 17, and well the rest is obvious or I wouldnt be writting in Adoption.com. :) Cheers for your support again SdSk!! and I am happy for both of you!!
i had the condomn on, but still we were worrying!!
neways the next time we r gonna do this is when both of us are big enough to fully support ourselves...!!
until then....., we are just gonna have some mild fun..
like kissing, hugging & cuddling each other...(i guess we have to wait for another 3-4 years)

sd sk, listen... you say that now, but when the hormones kick in while you two are "having mild fun"... you won't be able to back off, I'm sure. Make sure she is on the pill. Go to planned parenthood w/her and have her get some form of birth control that is more reliable than a condom.
Good luck and remember, your body totally takes over. Be prepared!
Ooooh, I second that. You've already let the genie out of the bottle so to speak. If nothing else keep spermicide and condoms on hand so you know that you have no excuse for going without bc. Use both together. If it makes you feel guilty to do that then follow your gut and don't, but at 20 yrs of age you do have responsibility for and control over your actions. You sound like you care a lot for each other. Decide together. Juli
