i would love some help or info!! have been taking care of two kids, the little girl will be here 18 months in nov and the little boy will be here a yr next month. i have legal custody of them and would love to adopt but the parents wont sign over their rights. they have countless criminal charges against them, the mother was in a mental hospital for a weekend and uses drugs, mentally handicap. i had to catch the kids both up on shots and found out the little girl had 2 holes in her heart. i got the little boy in therapy and he tells her some pretty scary stories. how and what do i need against the parents to terminate their rights? also someone told me that after 18months the courts would look at it? have no clue...please help im from indiana. i didnt know these parents before the first day they gave me their infant. they didnt know my name,age,where i was from or if i was comming back.

Wow, i don't know. Have you talked to a lawyer? If they have an ongoing criminal record, and it sounds like they do, shouldn't be that hard to do. Did they give you legal custody voluntarily? How did they come to choose you if so and why won't they sign over their rights if they don't seem to want to parent?
