Dearest Parents and Guardians:Im conducting research for a masterҒs in education thesis and Im hoping you will participate! The topic is parental perceptions of childrenҒs literature with the subject matter of adoption or with multicultural themes. I am currently a graduate student in the Arts in Education program at Saint Michaels College in Colchester, Vermont. I am interested in this studyҒs subject area due to my love of childrens books and wanting to share quality literature with my nephew, who was adopted from Korea. In looking for the many wonderful books I would like to share with him, I have had various experiences in seeking out childrenҒs literature with the subject matter of adoption or with multicultural themes. This study additionally enriches my inquiry into the powerful role of arts in education. If you would like to participate in the survey, please visit http://www.surveymonkey.com/s.asp?u=746832657565 to take the survey online. Thank you for your thoughts and sorry about the confusion! I had initially intended to focus on international adoption. I've had a few responses by people who have adopted domestically, and I'm finding all responses to be thoroughly interesting! So, I welcome all responses at this point (though I may work differently with the data at a later date). Thanks to everyone who has taken the survey!Emily
