Hi- I'm Michele and I'm new to this site and whole adoption process. I'm so lost as to where to even begin or what questions to ask??
First, I'll try to make this as brief as possible about how I've gotten to this point....my husband & I have been ttc for almost 2 yrs now. We've gone through IVF twice now & both times have failed. Our insurance is going to pay for it one more time. We do have one frozen embie from our first cycle. Our dielma is: we're pretty certain that I have poor egg quality even though I'm young...will be 30 in April.
So we're thinking the IVF isn't working b/c I just have bad eggs and I may have endemetriosis that may have come back. I had surgery in March 2006- so that could be why it's not taking either.
Our options are to do surgery, do our frozen transfer. If that doesn't work possibly try a donor egg and do a transfer that way.
Or why I'm here...adoption.
My questions are: where to begin?? What are some good websites, any agencies you recommend to work with?
Just ANY information you can give at this point will be VERY HELPFUL!!!
Thanks,
Michele:)

My favorite place to start is with books. Go to your public library and search for adoption books. There is usually a variety, from parent guides to raising adoptive children, to general "how to adopt" books, to books with several points of veiw on the more contrivercial aspects of adoption. One of my favorite for beginner research is "Is Adoption For You?" by Christine Adamec. It takes you step by step through the issues you need to wresle with before deciding to adopt or not. I found it more useful to read first and then do internet research. There's a lot of good articles on the main site here. Any other website's I'd suggest depend on which type of adoptiong you're thinking about so it's good to get the basics first.
Welcome to the forums!!!!:flowergift: Are you interested i Domestic or international adoption? These boards are wonderful for information. I searched the web and also looked for books on adoption. After researching etc. we decided on Guatemala. It was the best fit for us. There is a lot of info out there . Also feel free to ask lots of questions on here. I think that helped us the most.Good luck in whatever you decide
