I'm just wondering of anyone here has had any experience with a searchsite called "Seekers of the Lost"? When you register, along with contact info, it asks for your SSN, and I'm concerned about that? Should they be allowed to do that? The site claims that they've been covered on Kathy Lee and Dateline, and that it has a high success rate. What do you guys think?
I've never heard of the site but, everything I've read, seen, and been told says to NEVER give your SSN on the internet. There's too much chance for identity theft in my opinion. Do they make it optional or is it a rrquired field?

OK . . I just went there to see if it was the same site that I posted it to. It isn't. The site I posted to is The Seeker . .
But, I wouldn't give all the information they are asking for. It's much too personal to suit me.
You may want to think about this one before you post all your personal information.
There are so many sites out there . . post to the ones who you feel comfortable with.

[FONT="Franklin Gothic Medium"]I used "Seekers of the Lost" some years ago after hearing about them on the "Montel Williams Show". I got exactly what they promised or what I requested. Anyway I received about 80 pages of information which contained several interesting leads to my birth mother. Unfortunately I made a few calls and one lady that answered was very rude demanding to know where I got the number and so on. anyway I got very upset & discarded most of the information. Do not ever discard any information you get ! Now I believe that may have been my birthmother & I have not found the same information again despite spending a lot of money looking. That was only my experience and it was like 15 years ago. Good luck to you. Personally I am still searching for any biological relatives. I wish you the best possible outcome on your quest.
