Thanks so much. That'd be wonderful. My birthmother's name is Heidi Weller and she lived on Gruber Road on Ft. Sill in Lawton. Let me know! :-)
Thanks again.

Actually I lived in Lawton for 5 years during my late 20's-early 30's. I worked at a large medical practice in the Comanche Co. Hospital's parking lot. I also got my teaching degree from Cameron University in Lawton.
It IS quite large considering that the population of Ft. Sill (Army Post) is included in its population. Have you checked any army records to see if the name appears? More than likely if your birthmother was military she would have gone to Reynolds Army Hospital to give birth......unless she had planned adoption and wanted it to be a non issue at work. So you could check. Also, if Weller was her maiden name and she was young it is very likely that her father was military. Do you know biodad's name? He more than likely was military. Do you know birthmom's age at the time of your birth? You could also check Cameron University records or alumni and track the name Weller and start asking.
I'm not sure about in 1966, but all the schools in Lawton are one school district (Lawton Public School District). There are over 25 elementary schools (I did my student teaching there and they still have a little elementary school in every neighborhood...cute) but only four high schools. If you knew bmom's age in 1966 then maybe you could figure out what year she may have graduated and look into school records??
We are planning a vacation there next summer to visit old friends and so my now 14yr old can re-visit many of the places he frequented from ages 1-6. If you find yourself needing someone to do something in person, feel free to ask. I'll help if I can.
