Just thought I would pop into this and get started. We live in Riverside County right next to Lake Elsinore. Maybe we can start a local club get together or something.

thank you. We're fost/adopting . . . excited, scared, nervous, anxious, happy, every emotion all at once!
We are in North Riverside County (Eastvale) and we are just waiting to be matched. We finished the PRIDE classes in October and our home study was completed in December. We attended the intro class in April '07 and started the classes in August. We were intially told that we'd receive our son before the end of the year, but there were some hiccups and now we're just waiting. Its OK, cause his room isn't painted yet, but we're almost there. Has anyone else worked with Rhonda and Nancy with Riverside DSS? I have lots of questions.

Hello, I have a question that hopefully someone can help me with. I was a kinship parent to a little boy from birth until he was 20 mo. old. He was just returned to his BIO mother. We are not blood related but related through a distant marriage. No other family member came forward. I was wondering if he was put back into foster care due to mothers drug use will he be returned to us? And if he is returned to foster care will he automatically go for up for adoption.(we were also pre-adopted parents)
Hi everyone! My husband and I have adopted once through Orange County (kinship adoption) and we would like to adopt again. Our only obstacle is the PRIDE classes. My husband is on call 24/7 and I don't think he would be able to attend all of them. Can anyone tell me how long the classes last and if both parents need to attend? Thanks!
Hi we live in anaheim, we are signing on the 19th to adopt our little girl, we have her since she was 8 weeks old. she is now 16 months.
Not sure about the Pride classes. I know when I took Foster Parenting classes I did them alone and then my husband had to be there for the final interview.

Both my hubby and I had to do Pride classes and if he couldn't make one he could make it up on a different day. In San Bernardino county, with the exception of the first class, they will allow you to attend separately. They prefer it if you stick together, and I found it easy to get through it that way. That was a year ago, so that gives you an idea of how long it has taken for our family. We are waiting to be matched also.
Anyone have any experience with Riverside County foster/adopt program? Dealing with them directly or thru an agency...thinking I might be ready for one more?
