How exciting to have a forum to meet others in the same area. Welcome to you all!
I am an adoptive mom and can't wait to hear from others.

Hi all. I haven't introduced myself here. Dh and I are former Marion Co. foster parents. We adopted our 7th and 8th foster kids. They are biological sibs, but came to us and were adopted at different times. We learned in late May they have a baby brother. We have turned in our paperwork, finish FAKT Training, will do 1st Aid next Wed. and are visiting K. He's adorable, but was born cocaine-positive, may have ARND (all the other sibs have Fetal Alcohol), has asthma, and will probably have to have surgery on his big toes. We also found out yesterday his bdad is schizophrenic. We're 10 miles south of Indianapolis International in the country that is fast becoming the city. That's us. If anyone reads this in time, say a little prayer for K's first visit at our house tomorrow afternoon (July 5th.)

Unggoy....I love Curious George! You said you just finished your Dossier what country are you adopting from? Welcome!!
June....Welcome!!! Sorry to hear that your adoption process is going so slow. Keep strong and think happy thoughts and know that we are here for you.
You both keep us updated.
Its great to see others from Indiana!
We are adopting a boy from Guatemala. We received our referral about a month ago. Sorry it took so long to respond. I have not been on the boards much lately. Glad to see there are a few of us from Indy on here.
How exciting that you have a referral. We have a neighbor who just came home with their daughter from Guatamala (she just turned 6 months old yesterday). I have to say she is adorable as I am sure yours is too. Can't wait to hear more details.
Hello! My hubby and I live in Indianapolis. We have completed our part of the homestudy and are waiting for the agency to get it typed up and official. We are hoping to adopt either full aa or biracial.

Wish you all the best. Adoption is great. Give them the info on birthparents, they may need the medical info someday
ps I have adopted daughter myself child #5...
Occasionally I see adoption queries over on the community boards at rootsweb. Family history is my hobby. If you know what county, you could post on that county board. It's a long shot, but you might get a little more info.
Hello everyone. Just wanted to say that it is so nice to see ones from Indiana on here.:woohoo:
I am an adoptee born on 02/21/1984 and am still seraching... Hopefully one day we will meet. It is very hard to see posts on others that are searching for their children, and no one searching for you. I have searched for 10yrs wanting to find some answers. It is especially rough for me because my adoptive parents are not supportive. Life goes on... I'll be waiting.

courtni.......I am so sorry that your adoptive parents are not supportive of you searching. Good luck on your search! My prayers are with you for your search and that your adoptive parents find how important it is for you.
