My mind has flatlined!!!! I can't believe it. Our SW emailed me because she thought she had the wrong phone number and asked me to call her.
She told us that we have been picked by BP to adopt a baby girl!!!!! We get to meet on Monday and discuss the profile. There is still some time left that birthmom can change her mind so I'm trying to stay somewhat realistic. If all goes well, we should get to bring her home in about 2 weeks. I have so much to do because we didn't know what age we would be adopting but I don't want to get started until I know that we will get to bring her home. Please send as many postitive thoughts my way as you can. I so hope everything works out!
LOLOLOL!! What a FUN post. I'm so flippin excited :)
and of course you are completely NORMAL!!
well, as normal as can be expected!! hehe

OK, my mind has somewhat settled, but I have this beaming grin on my face that I can't shake! :D The meeting went really well. All the workers who are apart of this process were there to meet us. It was great I have never been so excited in all of my life! We didn't get to meet the baby yet, all of the final paperwork hasn't been received yet so they can't deem her legally free for adoption. Things look promising though so as soon as the paperwork comes in we can start preplacement visits........then she comes home!
I am such a big ball of emotions!! Looks like final paperwork should be taken care of by the end of the week. 2 1/2 more days of uncertainty! But things are still looking promising. Luckily work is busy right now so I can drown myself in that for a couple days. I'm just itching to go shopping for all of the baby stuff I've had my eye on, get the bassinet ready but most importantly to meet the baby!

That's great news!!!
Sounds like we are in the same time frame pretty much. We start out pre placement visits on Monday and are told we could have our baby here by Wed or Fri at the latest. I know how you must be feeling I am extremely impatient even though I know it's only days away LOL And it feels kind of surreal.
So did you adopt through children's aid? Just curious.
Congrats.. get busy putting some pink bows on that bassinette
Sounds like it. We are going through the CAS. Less than 24hrs to wait for final paperwork. If they receive it and everything looks good we might be able to start our visits on the weekend. OH I'M HOPING!!!!! Even just to know that we will get to bring her home will be great!
It's official!!!!! :cheer:We have a daughter!:cheer: The news came in later than expected but it was all worth the wait! I can't wait to see her the moment will be magical!

I can't beleive I missed this post until now.....
I am so excited for you as if I were going through it myself again when our daughter was born!!!!
Many many congratualtions!!!
Well a week has flown by! I met our daughter for the first time and instantly fell in love. She's just beautiful. In the course of 4 days, we visited everyday with our little girl, shopped like I've never shopped before and got her room ready. Things were simply a whirlwind and I've never been so tired! We got to bring her home Friday which was amazing! I took pictures of her snuggled in on DH chest, when I looked back through I cried my eyes out! Everyone is teasing about the trials and tribulations with a baby and my response is we've waited so long for this that we'll gladly take the bad with the good and not complain one bit!
I'm so happy things are going so well for all of you :flowergift:
How old is you new little daughter? Is she home for good now, or do you have a visiting schedule set up?

Dawn- she is 6 weeks old and home for good. We've really lucked out, she is soooo good! She cries when she needs changing and hungry and sleeps through the night....yeah for me!
