I was born in Windsor ontario and adopted at 3 days old. I'm trying to now track down information to get a medical history of my family as requested by my doctor because they say that I have a condition which they need to know the medical history in order for them to know which direction to go for treatment. It's nothing life threatening, just something I'd rather deal with now than have it get worse if it's going to.
How do I go about finding this information? This is the first time I've attempted to do this and don't even know where to start. I tried looking up numbers in Canada and when I call don't help and aren't sure where to direct me.
Can anyone help me?

From what I understand, Ontario's full disclosure policy for adoptions goes fully into effect next month. Check out this link... I think you can contact them and they'll run a match with the information you have. But it also sounds like that unless you're looking for medical information for a severe condition an actual search isn't possible for awhile if you didn't apply by early 2006. That sounds crazy... I cannot imagine waiting all that time.
But I honestly can't see a direct application available on their site

I got most of this info from a web search under "Ontario adoption records" if you want to try that for other sources. There are some adopted persons registry sites that look interesting.
I hope you find the info you need.
