9-11 Let's alwasy remember.
The day was horrific yet it had a unity to it. I think for the first time in my adult life I saw our country come together as a whole.
What were you doing on this day of tragedy?
I was pulling into the parking lot at my office and also realizing that my dad was supposed to be back at the Pentagon that week. I immediately called my mom to see where he was and thank goodness he hadn't left yet.
I just posted on another thread---I was at home w/ a migraine when my mom called to tell me. I went to noon mass that day, as did everyone else in the city.
One other thing I remember is that we got married just a few weeks later and went to Italy for our honeymoon. The airports still had soldiers w/ machine guns all over the place, and everyone was really tense.

I had just gotten to work and had no clue as I had gotten up late that morning and didn't have the t.v. on while getting ready for work. It was already 10 a.m. NYC time when I arrived, so I missed the initial acts.
I remember my boss saying we were going to close because our home office in NY was closed as well as the stock market and our company felt we shouldn't be working during this time.
For whatever reason I couldn't sit all day and watch the news, it was just too overwhelming for me. I ended up cleaning the house like mad and just trying to not believe it I guess. I still to this day haven't watched any of the movies, or specials they have shown about it.
I was lying in bed, just waking up. Turned on the Today show... while I was watching the second plane hit the other tower. I was screaming and sobbing... called my husband, called my mother in law.
We lived in the flight path of an airforce base. I remember it was eerily quiet that day without all the jets flying over.
Dear Heavenly Father, Abba, we ask you to be with all those who lost loved ones on that awful day. Let them feel your love and know that even though the evil one struck us hard that day, he did not win. What they meant for evil you turned to good by uniting a country and causing so many to turn to You. We call upon the blood of Jesus to protect us from future harm. Amen
