I just started posting on this site today. What a great forum!! I didn't know there would be a group for sibling adoptions!!
This month we adopted a sibling group of two bio sisters, ages 4 & 2. They are a lovely addition to our ever growing family! I am now a mother of 5.
I'm so glad the girls were able to stay together. The SW told us he was having a hard time placing them together. Seriously? It's only TWO kids! When our placement agent showed us referrals, there were even a couple groups of FIVE siblings that the state asked us to adopt. I told them I'm not buying a bigger vehicle to adopt five kids, as that would bring my list up to EIGHT children. I told them I could adopt a sibling group of 3 maximum.
My husband and I are so thrilled that the girls are with us forever.

Great news! Are they TPR'd? When is your finalization court date? (not sure what state you are in).
I remember when our first two came home... it was a whirlwind... I miss that time now but back then I was too exhausted to miss it, LOL...

Yes, the girls are legally free (TPR'd). It's an adoption placement, not foster. So we are listed as their parents on paperwork already, as a family placement. Even though we are not related biologically.
We should have court in a couple months. We live in a state that moves fast after children are legally free.
Congratulations, Esther. Adopting a sibling group has some special significance. The children will someday appreciate the fact that they will spend their lives together, knowing and loving each other. Sometimes separations happen, and that doesn't mean that the children can't be happy, but..........you did good.
