The BF was just granted 1 hour a week supervised visits. I filed my adoption case based on abandonment. He hasn't seen my 3 boys in over a year or paid any child support in 2 years. Does anyone know how this will effect the adoption case? I'm just in the beginning stages of the adoption. All paperwork is turned in just waiting for the home inspection I hope. I have not yet heard from the PO in charge. I know it usually takes a while but I live in a fairly small area. My situation only gets more complicated. My husband and I are planning to move out of state. Of course we are waiting for this all to come to a conclusion however family courts have ordered a move away evaluation. My portion would be $750. I'm not sure if I should spend the money on the move away evaluation when we are doing the adoption too. I know that the BF will contest the adoption now that he was given supervised visits. Any advise would be so helpful right now.
Thanks in advance.
How is everything going? Is the bf showing up for his hour a week visits?
To be on the safe side, while I know it is a lot of money, I would probably go ahead and do the move away evaluation so that you are prepared no matter which way the adoption case goes. Perhaps the bf will lose interest and stop showing up for his visits, making your case for adoption that much stronger.
