Does anyone have uptodate information about Vietnam opeing to UK adopters? There seems to be some movement in that special cases are allowed - ie living or working in Vietnam, having a relatonship with child's family - is this indicative that UK?Vietnam may be open soon? All thanks for info and advice.
We are in the UK, but we are a French/American couple so we decided to use a USA based adoption agency and we had no problems with our adoption to date other than some extra fees.
If either of you have US citizenship you shouldn't have any problems, however if you are both British, you should know that the department of children services are very very hard on families who want to adopt internationally. In fact, they hardly ever allow it. They have a general policy which severely discourages placing children of a different race with parents.
If you are in the UK and are equally British, Domestic adoption is your best bet.
