Saw this on the Texas webpage and was wondering if the porblem is the same in PA. We have been licensed since July but are still waiting for a placement call. Had one but that fell through as newborn ended up going with mom to rehab. Anyone else waiting this long?
We are with a privage agency in Philly as DHS does all of their referrals out (so my caseworker told me) and are willing to take newborn--8, Cauacasian. I would live to have a little girl but am very set up for boys as I have three bio boys of my own.
So, anyone else waiting....

Im guessing you are doing fostering or fost to adopt? And not straight adoption? Im surprised you haven't gotten a call if you are willing to foster or fost to adopt. We got calls before we were even licensed! The wait is hard! After our first placement I was constantly checking hte phone. Surprise, surprise, I got a call the Wed night before thanksgiving and we ended up with 2 sisters. And here I thought I was done with Xmas shopping :). It was great showing them what the holiday could be like. I know its hard to have patience... Im an impatient person. But it is worth it. Since the 5 months those girls were with us, we've had our third placement (which was a straight adoption) and we've finalized. They are coming to do our 1 yr update the first week in december and we are going to talk about what we're open for (another foster placement, respite only, etc). I think we'll be back waiting with you and everyone else again. Good luck!!

We waited nine long months for our first placement and I thought the wait would kill me. By the time we got our call I was begining to think it was all a hoax and we were never going to be foster parents. No advice from anyone helped. The bottom line is that eventually you will get "the call" and until then you may possibly go crazy. If you don't go crazy while waiting then you will most certainly go crazy in the aftermath that follows. Good luck and welcome aboard!
