Hi there, after speaking to an independent caseworker this week, I am now leaning towards international adoption. I had thought I was too old, but now know differently. Just an fyi, I'll keep writing about my journey.
Thanks!

Margaret,
Best of luck in your journey through International adoption. That is the route my husband and I chose and we're both in our mid 40's. Although we are somewhat limited, there are still several options for the more mature parent(s). :woohoo:
Please keep us posted on your progress and let us know which country you decide to pursue.
FYI - We're in process of adopting a baby girl from Guatemala with plans of a future adoption from Colombia (sibling group).
Thanks for the welcome, ladies! Here's my update: I met with the independent agency owner and caseworker this past Monday and really felt a lot more positive. I signed up with them and will have my first home study interview tomorrow morning! This caseworker has adopted 7 children internationally, so she really knows her stuff! Right now I am leaning towards Kazakhstan, and they are telling me to research Vietnam, too. I have information packets from one agency in hand, and another mailed one yesterday. So, let the process begin! I am excited and scared, all at the same time. More later,
Margaret
