Does anyone know if the new push to proceed with Bulgarian adoptions will entail new rules? Specifically, will infants become available for adoption?
Thanks
I have not heard of any new rules. The only change I am aware of is that the 100 child limit is gone. So, I do not believe infants are available.

Sorry I cannot recall the news article specifically...a search on adoption in the Sofia news will get it though.
There I read that it has been proposed to open adoptions up for a young as 6 month old children.
I asked our BG agency about it and they confirmed that it was a proposed change but that there is no word as yet as to whether or not it will be approved.

I cannot find any article in the Sofia news re: infants being available.
Don't forget, one of the requirements for BG adoption is that the adoptive parents cannot be 45 years older than the child.
I was just informed that the children have to wait 1 year from entering the orphanage until they can be made available for adoption. The MOJ is discussing whether to lower that to 6 months. No decision has been made on that.
