Can you please pm me info on your agency? I am considering adopting from Taiwan, but I was not sure how strict they are with medical requirements, especially if one parent is diabetic type II. Also can you share some general info with me concerning your adoption process. Thanks.

I would also be interested in Agency information for Taiwan if anyone is willing to share.
This is one of the countries we are strongly considering but I have only found a handful of agencies so far.
I am interested as well. I wanted to get some general info about adoptions in Tawian. How long is the wait time? Do they allow gender preference? We are wanting a girl so I wanted to find out if this would be an option. Any info would be greatly appriceatied.
thanks

Taiwan Law is as follows:
I. ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS FOR ADOPTIVE PARENTS: The articles of law relating to adoption in Taiwan are
found in the Civil Code (Family and Children Welfare Act in Book VI), Articles 1072 through 1083.
* The adopting parents must be at least twenty years older than the child(ren) to be adopted.
* No child adopted may be:
1. Directly related by blood;
2. Directly related by marriage, except in the adoption of the other spouses child as a stepchild; and
3. Indirectly related by blood, such as cousins (unless removed by a certain degree), the spouse of a sibling, or a
sibling of your spouse. (Taiwan law is very detailed about what degree of indirect blood relation is excluded from adoption.
If prospective adoptive parents are concerned about possible blood ties with the child they wish to adopt, they should contact
AIT for clarification before proceeding with the adoption.)
Taiwanese regulations further stipulate that adopting parents must be adults not older than 55 years of age. A married person
who adopts a child shall do so jointly with his/her spouse.
Taiwan Orphanage Requirements or Regulations for
adopting Parents
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
Orphanages in Taiwan Have rules and regs all to their own choosing BUT NONE OF THEM ARE WHAT YOU ARE ASKING ABOUT.
Agencies for Taiwan adoption however will quote various rules and regs and may REPRESENT THEM AS COUNTRY LAW OR ORPHANAGE RULES or you may take it as such and they are indeed NOT!!!!!
Please make sure that if you contact ANY TAIWAN AGENCY that they are very clear on WHOS rules and laws they are representing when they quote their requirements. If you are unsure, look at the above law issued by USCIS. If still unsure, view my blog and see what each orphanage states, and what agencies may require on individual basis! I have a full explanation there, You may also look up each individual orphanage in Taiwan (there are only a few active with the outside public for placing) by doing a search on what orphanage the agency you are speaking with works with.
