Closing an open adoption destroys the birthmother who chose you and harms the child

I always assumed there was healing ...esp. in a functioning open adoption I did not mean to negate (or gloss over) the loss. The loss is ongoing. Open adoption should just be the norm. Thanks for your insight Brenda.
