Hi Everyone!
I am new to this process and just starting out. I am interested in adopting AA/BR/F/6-11. So far, since it hasn't been a month yet, everything is going ok. Just waiting to see if I can get in the next MAPP class in my area (AZ). If anyone has any suggestions or info that I may need starting out, please feel free to reply.
Looking forward to meeting new people and making new friends!
I don't have any info on older child adoption, but just wanted to welcome you to the board.

hi frynche, i'm in AZ as well. I will be starting the fostering process in September of this year. I had to push the start date process due to some personal reason.
I was looking at your profile and was wondering how can someone get denied from MAPP classes? I went to the orientation class in Dec. and they didn't discuss the MAPP classes in depth. I was just wondering since we are in the same state.
WELCOME TO THE BOARDS :)

Well I went to orientation and learned what was offered there and wanted to move forward. I had an interview at my home and was advised they would call me to let me know if I would be accepted for the next class. On pins and needles, I contacted them to find out if I had been accepted for class. I left a voicemail since the person working with me was out of the office. She called back and left me a voicemail stating that since they thought my work schedule would be an issue, unfortunately I would not be considered for this class or the adoption process. If however my situation changed I could apply again. Needless to say, I will try other avenues but I don't know when I will start. I am interested in adopting at least 2 or 3 children or a sibling group and I only have one unoccupied bedroom and I would hate to be passed over for not having enough room in my home. I am planning to move to a larger home so I will do that first before starting this again.
