Hello All:
I wanted to update everyone on my last thread about finding my birth daughter.
Her and I met face to face a couple of weekends ago and everything went very well. She is a beautiful woman and was raised by wonderful people.
My advise is...if you registered with Gladney...STAY IN TOUCH with them. I registered 7 years ago but she wasn't ready. Then she registered but I had married and moved so Gladney could not reach me.
The process to receive identifying information was long, but I now understand why they make you "jump trough hoops" like they do. It really is in the best interest of both parties.
I have nothing but good things to say about Gladney. They were very professional and most helpful during the reunion process. Even now that we have met face to face Gladney is still interested in how our relationship is progressing.
To those of you still searching...hang in there and don't EVER give up! The reward in the end is worth every pain staking step.
Good Luck to everyone,
Debbi
Congrats on your face to face meeting.. and I agree with all you have written about hanging in there..
Also keep the same email address if you post your info on search sites..
I changed my email address a year or so after I started searching and I just happened to go back to my old email address by chance and within a month or so I got the email..

i too recently registered and "jumped through all the hoops" now waiting for birth son to finish...last i knew..he had not done his councelling
I don't know how long you have been waiting for identifying info but ours took 7 months. Once Gladney gets the letters from both counselors they will immediately send identifying info.
I have seen my birth daughter again since my last thread and it was wonderful to see her. She is coming to visit the weekend on June 21st. I'll post again to let everyone know how that goes. Will be the first time the 2 of us will have "alone" time. :o)
Keep the faith,
Debbi
Congrats on finding your birthdaughter!! I'm so happy for you. It's also good to know you had a good experience through Gladney.
I was adopted from Gladney along with my younger adopted sister.
I registered but there was no match so now I am seeking Direct Post Adoption Contact.
I look forward to your update! Thanks for the kind words and hope.
