Maybe it's been asked before... We completed our MAPP/Homestudy and were told that we were approved but they were waiting on the certificate from the State (FLA). Once they have that in their hand they can place a child. How long does the certificate take? It's been about 3weeks already and I don't want to call the Department. However, we're wondering why is it taking so long. Is that normal?:arrow:

Ummm, usually they don't wait for the actual license in hand before your called for a placement. I didn't get my license until about a month after I was licensed and I had had the boys already 3 weeks. It also depends on the age/sex/# of kids you wanted. There may just not be a need for it (which is a great thing) for right now.
I would expect you should be called sooner or later. Enjoy this time.
