There are a lot of abandoned children who are in need and I have a friend in Ukraine who works as an adoption facilitator. A lot of american couples have already adopted there.
If you like this idea email him : infirmary@ukr.net

Yes!!! The Master's Program in Social Work is a terminal degree, meaning you may come from (recommended)another specialty and start the MSW program. You may need to take a few more courses to get up to snuff, but you should be okay. Most Social Work programs also offer advanced standing programs in which someone with a BSW can move through the MSW a bit faster by waiving the foundation courses that are there for those with other degrees. Good Luck.

As far as specializing in adoption, most if not all schools will have concentration programs focusing on different areas. One area may be children family services, which will include child welfare, child protective services, foster care, adoptions. The important part would be to get an internship with an adoption agency if that is available... if not, you will learn much from an internship with Children's Services a federal program. Let me know what area you are in and I'll respond back... or put into the search engine... Master's of Social Work Programs.... or even better would be to go to a library and look in a Peterson's Guide to Graduate Schools and in the index, they will have all MSW programs/schools listed by state. Good Luck.

I was adopted through Holt International but I know Bethany Christian Services contract with Holt. Very good... networking is one of the best ways to get an internship and even a job. Feel free to post if you have any other questions. When I lived in Ohio there were various adoption agencies and services, you have many different adoptions agencies at your disposal. Good Luck.
