Back in February 2008 my FS was supposed to be reunited with his biomx but she messed up and they ended up changing my FS goal to adoption while they kept his half brother reunification. I worked through all the adoption paperwork and was getting close to the TPR trial. That was supposed to happen on the 13, last Friday, and for some reason it was canceled and no one told me. I found out because I called the FCC to tell her I was going out of town and I had to ask her how court went. She then said that the mediation was scheduled for July. Then today she told me after I happened to stop by to talk with someone else that they had mediation yesterday and that they are considering changing the goal back to reunification since his brother will be going back to mom anyways. I am completely devastated.......
I'm sorry to hear that. I hope they do what is in the best interest of the child. Good luck. I know it is hard.

I'm sorry to hear that and I know the waiting game and the frustrations that go along with fostering. Hopefully they are doing the right thing for both of the children.
If she gets one back, that means she is doing her case plan. If she is doing her case plan, that means they may not have enough to get TPR on the other child. You can't give one back and TPR the other at the same time. Very few judges like to TPR one child at a time. Give it some time. Its not over yet.
That's exactly why my kids parents just got another 6 months on top of the previous 10 months and prior 13 months, my kids have been in the system for a total of 23 months. Since there is a new baby involved they gave them a new date to coincide with the baby and he wouldn't grant concurrent goal, so that means that when December rolls around we will have to do concurrent for 6 more months, and so on.
Story of my life.
Well everyone went back to court last Thursday and the judge changed my FS goal from Adoption back to Reunification. The GAL has never met my FS or myself. I had to call the department to talk to a supervisor regarding the absence of knowing what was going on especiallly since I was in the process already to adopt if/when he was freed. I guess foster parents aren't that important and their ideas aren't needed. There really needs to be some changes to the system. My FS has been in the system since he was 1 1/2 months old and he'll be 3 in October. This is the third time he will go through the reunification process. When does it all end?

I am so sorry for what you are going through with your FS, it is breaking my heart too. I'm worried that the same might happen to us too, our FS has half siblings, one has already left to be with his biodad (not the same biodad of our FS) Mom is sort of half arsed working her plan.
Where are you in Florida...what county and which judge?
Do you have an attorney?

So sorry to hear about your situation. I was a relative who adopted a child out of foster care in Florida and I know the foster parents were devastated--they'd had him over a year.
In you case--how ridiculous--so much time given to bparent for ru--
My thoughts and prayers are with you so this child can stay home--yes, you are home, IMO.
Will be thinking of you
Yeah it's pretty heartbreaking. All I can do it hope that Mom will do the right thing this time and keep them out of harms way. Since the RU started the almost 3 year old has been having major fits and has started spitting, hitting, screaming, and yelling after his first 4 hour unsupervised visit. THe FCC said that he tried to bite his 7 month old brother and hit him during the visit as well. That is so not like him. I have a feeling this is going to be very stressful and heartbreaking for all of us. Thanks for all your comments. I appreciate hearing from others that are/have going/gone through this.
