SB869 FAILS to be heard in SENATE

All..... It is with frustration and anger :mad: that I have to tell all of you that our bill will NOT be heard in the SENATE today. When you have a chance, PLEASE write to Senator DOUG BERGER Dougb@ncleg.net (FRANKLIN, GRANVILLE, VANCE and WARREN counties) or CALL him (919) 715-8363- he is an adult adoptee who believes he can speak on behalf of ALL adult adoptees. He pitched a fit:hissy: , over our bill, and stated he would stand up and speak vehemently AGAINST our bill. He does not believe even the Confidential Intermediaries should be able to contact relatives (who may not know about the birthmother giving up a child.) When you write him or speak with his aide, DO BE RESPECTFUL, but let him know what he did today was wrong. Let him know he has hurt a lot of people and that in NO certain terms should he be speaking on behalf of the members of the adoption triad. If you are constituent tell him you are, and I would advise not to vote him back in if at all possible, however that is just my opinion. Senator Rand spoke with Representative Dickson and told her what we did not want was for our bill to go down in FLAMES on the last day of the session. It would be very difficult to bring back in 2009. Our process will have to start all over in 2009.
