Do you have to send in your homestudy with your I600A form? It's been so long since we did this I have forgotten :)Thanks!

We were able to send ours in after our application. The website states that you have either 6 months or a year to get the homestudy in after you submit your application. We sent our application in June 20, homestudy in July 3rd and got our approval in our mailbox on July 10th. All they were waiting for on the approval was our homestudy.

Your I-600A cannot be approved without a valid homestudy report.
That being said, while most USCIS offices want the homestudy report submitted at the same time as the I-600A, some offices do allow the I-600A to be filed before the homestudy is complete.
In the long run, however, it usually doesn't matter whether you file your homestudy report with the I-600A or later. Some USCIS offices do not send a fingerprinting letter until the homestudy report is received, and some will not even begin to look at the application until the homestudy report is received.

We used the El Paso office in Texas. We actually got our fingerprint appointments by email, had them done on July 5th. The person who handles the I600A, etc. forms knew that we were #1 on our agency's list for a boy referral and I think he expedited things for us. We were very thankful.
And for what it's worth, we received our fingerprint appointments before the USCIS had received our home study report. So, each office is different.

Susan, North Carolina does allow your I600a application to be submitted prior to the the homestudy being complete. I even recieved my fingerprinting appointment prior to the homestudy being completed. My homestudy agency mailed in my report and I just showed up to get fingerprinted. Samantha
