I was wondering if anyone knew of any Bible verses or stories, besides Moses, or articles which deal with or discuss birth families or birth siblings.
Thanks.
How about the story of Samuel? It wasn't "exactly" an adoption, but he was placed in Eli's care to serve the Lord. It tells us that Hannah brought Samuel a new coat every year when she came to the temple to worship.
Sorry, I don't have the referrences in front of me, but it was the first story that came to mind.

Esther (Hadassah) was adopted by her Uncle Mordecai after her parents died. No sibings, that's all I can think of that pertains to adoption right now

You can also use the story of David and Mephibosheth. Mephibosheth was Johnathan's son and after Johnathan had died, David allowed Mephibosheth to eat and his table and sleep in the palace. Methibosheth was also about 16-20 years old when this happened so this could be the perfect example of an older child adoption.
Sohmakun,
I had not heard of this relationship between David and Jonathan's son. Thanks, I will research this one. THANKS!!
Moses. He was raised by Pharoah's daughter, and later re-united with siblings Miriam and Aaron and his extended Hebrew family. I think there were some definite ups and downs in Moses' relationship with his siblings.

I love this Bible Story! David really showed his love for Johnathan through Mephibosheth. If I'm not mistaken, Mephibosheth was unable to walk/handicap.
