I'd like to get a Waiting to Adopt support group going in Delco. The group would be for those planning to start the process, are in the homestudy process, or are just waiting to be matched.

As an adoptive parent and licensed therapist, I recognize the lack of supports in the community for those waiting to adopt as well as those who have adopted. I'm in the process of forming such a group on Monday evenings. Currently, my office is in Bryn Mawr and I'm looking at moving closer to Delaware County. I've been in the process quite a while and was never really able to find any kind of support group for waiting parents (unless it was with an agency). There is an infertility/adoption group in media, but I talked with someone who was one of the "founding" members and she was the only one who was adopting when she was involved with it. Personally, being mixed in with others actively doing IF treatment didn't appeal to me.
