It's really amazing how a fun topic like Santa can evolve to some heated points. Not surprising, but still...sigh.
Since you are participating, we'll let the CM's moderate if needed. You can enjoy the discussion and I will make a point to let them (mainly Binky) know that. I HATE it when members throw that in our faces "A moderator said...blah blah blah" when we participate as ourselves in a thread. Ugh...

ugh, this argument drives me bonkers!!
I mean, I was raised really Christian, but I missed the part where it was the job of other Christians to decide who gets to enjoy which holidays!
I also get worried that I participate and am always wearing a "Mod Hat" that people will be extra critical or think that I'm getting away with something because I mod....psh. That's why I need Crick to keep me in check, right crick??? :cowboy:
Well ya...they'll think that regardless.;)
That's why it's just really important that when we do participate in the discussion, we don't go back and moderate later etc. So yes..I keep you in check on that. LOL!
Obviously as a mod, we do have a bit of expectation that we'll post in attempts to mediate a bit without actually moderating. So if a discussion is starting to go bad, and we have the "gentle touch" type of calming post that we can make when giving our opinion, then that does help with mediation.
However...it's not always possible to post in this manner either and I don't expect you to. I do expect the rules to be followed just as any member does and people can tell you too that I've moderated the mods when necessary. Heck..I've been moderated.;) It happens.
But regardless, there will always be some member's perceptions that we don't have to follow the rules. Can't do anything about that, and can just be sure we are doing our jobs. Some will find fault no matter what, so eh...squash them like a bug in your mind and no figgy pudding for them! LOL!
