You may or may not feel a connection to your siblings, it is never a clear cut answer. Your adopted mom cannot answer this for you, only you can and any attempt to convince you is probably not doing you any good. It may be an insecurity on your adoptive moms part that is wanting to stop you from searching, it is a common reaction from older closed adoptions. Check with CC and find out if they can help or if they have any sibling registries you can post on. Read about adoption, search and reunion and take the time to figure out how you feel and whether or not you are ready for the emotions of a reunion. If you do choose to search then keep a record of where you registered, check them often and keep your contact details up to date. Take care,Dickons

I'm sorry your amom dismissed your desire to look for your siblings. It's not stupid, it's your right. She may be trying to protect you or is worried she could be replaced. lots of reasons why she said that.
Catholic Charities may not be much help. You could luck out and get a nice person on the phone willing to really help you. But since you know your birth mom's name, most states have birth indexes and you may be able to look up all the children she gave birth to and when. That may be a good place to start. Ancestry.com has birth indexes for the states that have them.
My name is Ronald Leo Sr. I am 33 years old and I am searching for my little sister. She was born on July 28,1976 in Louisville Kentucky. Her birth name was Sheniqua F Leo and was adopted in Florida(I believe in Broward County 1976 or 77) the adoption was handled through Catholic Charities. I was told that she was placed in the foster care of two school teachers who eventually adopted her. If anyone has information that could help me locate her it would be greatly appreciated. Her birth mothers name is Diane J Leo.
