I'm 32yrs old and I've always known I was adopted. My adopted parents have always been mom and dad. My mom knows very little at least that what she says. I pretty much know nothing. No names or anything. I did know the laywer that handled my adoption but little good that did. He wouldn't tell me anything. So the only thing else I know is the hospital I was born in because I was adopted in the same town I was born in. To me it sounds like it should be easier that way but it's not. I have very little to go on and know idea where to start.
The local court who handles adoption can look up your last name and approx dates (around your birth) and then you can find out on the court papers who your agency was. Then you call the agency to get non-identifying info...Its takes a while but start with the local court..p.s. search angels on these threads help me..

So would there be an agency on top of the lawyer. My adoptive mom just told me about the lawyer. I had know idea there would be anyone else involved.
