I wrote a couple posts on my former fosterchild. She was RU'd a year ago and case is closed. We were in close contact with her till a couple months ago. At that time she was showing that some negative changes were occurring in her household (not abuse!). Dad has been acting strange and distant to me all of a sudden and I did research to find that mom is in jail. I'm worried about former FD. I tried to call all the former SW's I knew during the case and all the numbers are bad now. I emailed one worker yesterday and haven't heard back (she may be gone). I looked up online to see if I could recommend they check up on her, and everything states you can only do that if you suspect abuse.
What do you recommend? Should I keep trying to call some general numbers for social services in that county until I get some help? Is it wrong that I am pursuing this so much when there's no suspected abuse? I'm just generally concerned for her. Thoughts?

Does the child have a CASA, or did she? Can you contact that person if so? Or is there a CASA organization in your area, that you could ask to look into this?
"Is it wrong to care?" seems to be your question. There may be rules that say you should not, but isn't that something to ponder. If rules say that you're "not to care", phone calls vs email and voice mail may be the safest choice for you.
