As Mothers Day approaches, please share a piece of advice your mother shared with you.
My mother once told me, "The older your children are, the bigger their problems are." (Not positive, but true! Of course I was about 42 when she shared that gem with me... I think she was talking about my 16 year old son..)
I remember my grandmother saying 'if you sit at the corner of the table you'll never get married' so of course I always did and I'm on marriage number 3! HA
:-/
I actually was making artist's books a while a go and made one filled with advice!
I remember someone else saying to me 'if you eat your salad, you'll get curly hair' and my mom saying 'but she LIKES salad' hahahahahaha that's why my hair is straight?

From my mother (who lived to be 88):
Good manners are more important than good looks.
From my paternal grandmother (who lived to be 98):
God gave men pride and he gave women patience.
From my maternal grandmother (who lived to be 104):
Never leave your bedroom without makeup and jewelry. And she never did!
My Grandma's advice don't let your hatred consume you - let it go and love with abandon.
(She was in Auschwitz, and where other people lost their faith in God and Mankind, she was determined to live her best life in spite of the evils of the world).
My mother advised me to, "Marry a man you can't keep your hands off of - when nothing else is going right, you'll have that to keep you together!":woohoo:
Guess I should have listened!

Somethings my mother tells me from time to time
There is a time and a reason for everything.
Worry is like a rocking char.... it won't get you anywhere.
I believe my mother heard these things a lot from her grandmother because I also hear my aunt and a cousin of theirs say these same things.
Hey All,
I'm doing Kathy a favor and letting you guys know that she fell this morning and may have broken her leg or ankle - I'm not sure which at this time.
she called an ambulance.
I'll keep you guys posted.

Like "Love's" grandma my mom was a victim of the Nazi's (though thru bombing campaigns which - as my mom would say - was nothing like Auschwitz. Kudos and tremendous respect to Lovemy2Boys grandma). :battle: :battle: :battle:
But mom learned a lot from the War and here are the things she has repeated like gospel all her life since:
In life, you'll have a chance to do great good or great evil. Choose wisely.
If you fall, so what? Get up! Only a coward stays on their knees.
Don't let fear run your life or you won't have a life.
Good always triumphs over evil. In the end, Hitler lost.
Mom - thank you. As usual, you turned out to be right.:grouphug:
Hey "Love" and "Kathy"!!!
Kathy -
I don't know what mom would say but I'm just saying that I'm glad you're okay.....well....considering the surgery and all!
Good grief!!!
Be better okay? :-) :-)
